The interface card contains components which are sensitive to electrostatic discharge. Do not remove the card from its protective bag without using the following precautions:

Before handling the card, ground yourself by touching a grounded object, such as the case of your computer.
Never touch the backplane connectors or pins. Handle the card by its mounting bracket.
Always store the card in its protective bag. Use the bag as a work surface when the card must be laid down.
